¿Habla usted español
I wish I spoke Spanish. In my ventures into the apartments where our first BTown Kids summer program started ooooohhh SIX years ago, I have come to love many of the moms there. Ok, the kids are cool too, but I LOVE the mommas! The sadness is that I don’t have a Spanish speaking buddy, so many (and I do mean MANY) moms get tiny pieces of info from me, and I from them. Our relationship is mostly restricted to “Hi, how are you” (¿Cómo está usted…) and “What size does your son/daughter wear” (¿Qué ropa de tamaño para el niño). Beyond that, our conversations become nods, grins and hugs and that’s about it.Do YOU speak spanish??? Do ya, do ya, do ya???

Hi, my name is Kyrie, and I was down in Portland the weekend before last with the Bellevue Christian Reformed group! I do speak Spanish, but I live kind of far away…. Let me know if there’s anything you need me to do though! I’ve helped my dad communicate with Spanish speakers before by translating emails, or just being on a conference call, etc. I know it’s not ideal, and there’s probably many people close by that can help more easily, but just in case
