“Purposed living…..”

Purpose is such a huge part of who we are as people. Without a defining purpose we can have a tendency to go off the rails. A biblical thought which has guided me has been out of the Old Testament in Proverbs 29:18. “Without a purpose the people perish” one translation of this says, “they go wild….” I believe this is a big problem for many people. They do not have a purpose which defines them. They really have no reason to get out of bed accept, to punch the clock and start another purposeless day over and over again. So what does a understanding of your purpose do for you? A few things:

1) It defines your direction - Your purpose becomes your north, it is what gives you the road on which you travel on. Without it you are aimless. Someone once said, “if you aim for nothing, you will hit it every time.”

2) It give you passion – One of the most disappointing things for me is a passionless person. A person who has no passion is a boring person. These people go nowhere, they are usually downers and dream killers because they have no passion, nothing that makes them sing. If you find yourself passionless its either because you have forgot your purpose or you never had one in the first place. You need to take time to develop this.

3) It defines your contribution – We were all designed to make a contribution whether small or large does not matter, human beings usually define the value of the contribution but this is not important. What is important is discover your uniqueness and contribute. Contribute to your family, contribute to your community or wherever it is you find yourself. Another great quote which always motivates me is “The glory of God is man fully alive….” I love this. I like to see fully alive people. People fully engaged in the creation, fully engaged in being the difference in others worlds. Remember you matter and you are awesome. Be fully alive. Live on purpose.
